Deputy PM Nick Clegg puts his faith in Stockport
Starkey Laboratories in Hazel Grove welcomed the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg to its European HQ in Hazel Grove as the leader of the Liberal Democrats paid a flying visit to the North West.
American owned Starkey who employ nearly 200 staff and technicians at their manufacturing site in Hazel Grove where they produce state of the art audio equipment, from hearing protection to App controlled made for iPhone hearing aids,were delighted to be selected for the visit.

Local and European Elections 2014
The local and European elections shall be held on the 22nd of May 2014. Today is the deadline for potential local election candidates to submit their nomination forms to Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. This means in the next few days residents can find out whom shall be standing in their ward.
Chris Davies, our award winning MEP, is re-standing for the European Parliament for the Liberal Democrats in the North West region.

Ann takes on pavement cyclists
Ann Smith has taken the case up of an elderly woman who was struck by a cyclist on a Stockport pavement.
The woman, who is partially sighted, was hit by someone riding their bike on a pavement despite this being against the law.
Ann has written to Greater Mancheter’s police and crime commissioner to see what can be done. “I appreciate obviously that this matter is not going to be up there as a priority, “she said in her letter. “However, I would like to think that something could be done.”
